Installation Steps

1. Thoroughly clean the crankshaft and crankcase bore; remove all burrs, old seal residue, rust and contamination.
2. Lightly lubricate the sealing lips and crankshaft with engine oil. Do not install dry.
3. Press the seal evenly into the housing using a proper installation tool, keeping it perfectly perpendicular to the bore.
4. Do not strike the rubber lip or hammer directly on the seal. Protect the corrugated outer surface from damage.
5. After assembly, rotate the crankshaft by hand to check for binding, then inspect for oil leakage during initial test run.
