Installation Steps

1. Thoroughly clean the crankshaft and housing bore; remove all burrs, old seal residue, rust and contamination.
2. Lightly lubricate the sealing lips and crankshaft with engine oil. Do not install dry.
3. Press the seal evenly into the housing using a proper installation tool, keeping it perfectly perpendicular to the bore.
4. Do not strike the rubber lips or hammer directly on the seal. Avoid cocking or distorting the stepped profile during installation.
5. After assembly, rotate the crankshaft by hand to check for binding, then inspect for oil leakage during the initial test run.
