120x150x7 Oil Seal: Size & Selection Checklist
Check the 120 mm inside diameter, 150 mm outside diameter and 7 mm width, then review the drawing, material and operating requirements before ordering.
What does 120x150x7 mean?
The nominal dimensions are 120 mm inside diameter, 150 mm outside diameter and 7 mm width. Dimensions alone do not establish the lip profile, compound grade, pressure capability or equipment compatibility. Confirm tolerances and the installation drawing before ordering.
| Item | Information to confirm |
|---|---|
| Nominal dimensions | 120 x 150 x 7 mm |
| Seal profile | Approved cross-section and lip orientation |
| Material | Compound grade and hardness on the quotation |
| Operating pressure | Continuous and peak differential pressure |
| Shaft speed | Continuous speed, start-stop cycle and direction |
| Temperature and fluid | Actual lubricant or fluid and operating range |
Is this size suitable for high pressure?
This page does not establish a pressure rating for a specific VKEFOT part. Do not select a seal for a pressurized installation from its dimensions or FKM material name alone. Provide the pressure differential, shaft speed, fluid and temperature so the proposed design can be reviewed. Any pressure rating must come from the approved product specification and its stated operating conditions.
Material selection
Ask for compatibility with the actual fluid and operating temperature, including startup and cleaning conditions. NBR, FKM and other compounds are not interchangeable solely because the dimensions match. Confirm the specific compound, hardness and intended duty in writing. See the sealing materials guide for the information needed for a quotation.
Before installation
- Check the delivered part number and dimensions against the approved drawing.
- Inspect the shaft and housing for damage, contamination and features that could damage the lip.
- Follow the selected seal manufacturer's instructions for orientation, lubrication, installation tools and seating depth. Different designs can require different procedures.
- Verify the installation and observe the assembly under the agreed commissioning procedure.
If a new seal leaks
Record the part number, batch, operating time before leakage, fluid, temperature, pressure and shaft speed. Provide photos of the installed orientation, shaft surface and removed part where available. Do not assume that a different rubber material or another seal with the same nominal dimensions will resolve the cause.
Information for a quotation
Send the drawing or full dimensions, current part reference, operating conditions, quantity and destination. MOQ, sample availability and delivery are confirmed for the actual item in the written quotation; see our trade policy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order by size alone?
Size is the starting point. Confirm the profile, compound and operating conditions before approving a replacement.
Does FKM automatically make this a high-pressure seal?
No pressure rating is established by the material name alone. Request a design-specific rating and the conditions under which it applies.
Is this page a product test report?
No. This is a selection checklist, not a validated performance specification or equipment approval.
Reference and scope
SKF's seal engineering guidance identifies operating conditions, including pressure differential, as inputs to seal selection. This general reference does not certify VKEFOT products or transfer an SKF product rating to them.
Editorial update: 18 September 2026. Product-specific pressure, speed and temperature limits require an approved specification. Request a drawing review.
Related catalog and engineering resources
Compare the seal catalog against the complete drawing and operating conditions. Material names alone do not establish a pressure rating. Consult the rotary shaft seal technical manual for general selection guidance and the replacement checklist before requesting a part-specific drawing review.
Need help specifying a seal?
Use these checks to prepare your enquiry. Final suitability depends on the specific design and operating conditions.
Check dimensions and design
Provide the shaft diameter, housing bore and seal width in mm. Include the part marking, lip profile or a dimensioned drawing if available.
Describe operating conditions
Share the fluid or medium, operating temperature, pressure and shaft speed. Confirm the material grade against the application.
Verify a replacement
Provide the original part number and photos. Similar dimensions alone do not confirm interchangeability; compare the design and material.
