Material & Construction

The lip is NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) moulded to a metal insert with a rubber outer diameter. NBR resists mineral oil, gear oil and grease, covers -30 C to +100 C (short peaks to +120 C), and keeps enough elasticity to follow a shaft that is slightly out of round. The lip is loaded by a garter spring.
