How do I choose a seal for an agricultural gearbox or PTO shaft?
Start with the machine and gearbox reference, shaft diameter, housing bore, available width and a drawing or sample. Record shaft speed, rotation and exposure to dust, crop debris, mud or washing. A similar product photo does not confirm fit.
Which material should I request for a high-temperature PTO installation?
Provide the actual lubricant, continuous and peak temperatures, startup conditions and cleaning fluids. Ask for the proposed compound grade and its documented temperature and compatibility limits. Do not choose NBR or FKM from the material name alone.
What pressure limit applies to an agricultural shaft seal?
